There Was Only One Debate Loser, The American People
Pick a side. Vote or die. The first presidential debate has come and gone and it seems like there is only one loser. As ABC has said after the debate: “The only loser tonight is the American People.” Every issue and question addressed, from racial issues to trade was blown passed and turned into a blame game. The most important part of the debate, and the reason we all watch was left out. How does this effect the common American person?
Before I go any further, I’d like to be the first person in media in years maybe to admit my bias. Since places that claim to be unbiased like CNN and MSNBC are so obviously left leaning I’ll do you a favor and treat you like a human. Giving you a clear view of who I am up front.
I am a Latino-American Libertarian-Right Leaning boarder-line Republican who doesn’t care if you do drugs. Just don’t sell them to my proverbial kids. I was #nevertrump until I became #neverhilary and found myself in an American paradox. UGHHH!!!
HILLARY’S FACT CHECKER
What I’ve come to understand is that facts simply just don’t matter anymore. Hillary’s “Fact Checker” is simply a list of arguments none of which benefit anybody, they simply slander her opponent and are in her favor. These are not facts for our country, they are gossip. Hilary wants to change our country to green energy against the market without acknowledging the facts that green has failed because it is more expensive and will fail again. Specially if we dump millions into it. Green energy will close out other forms of energy and lose american jobs.
This is not to mention the laundry list of abominable things she has done to our country in her time. From lying to congress in their faces, to laughing about murder and rape, taking money from middle eastern warlords to fund her “Charity” and the list goes on. She paraded her experience at the end of having to testify in front of a jury for 11 hours at the end of the debate as if it was something to be proud of and got “Hoorays” from the audience as if she was playing Free Bird. It’s baffling how a presidential candidate could be commended for being on trial. On trial for such terrible accusation against our own people. Deleting information that could put you in danger. That isn’t simply e-mails. Ugh…I digress.
Trump refuses to accept responsibility for the things he has said, he won’t accept his own moral standing, and myself; as a person who thinks morals are important; cannot fully stand behind someone who has crooked morals. Although some policies I agree with, his moral standing keep me from thinking I’d want him for 4 years. Otherwise what’s left to oppose a liberal movement 4 years later? All that will be left will be a Nationalist party that is a diluted version of a conservative party. One with no firm stance on Pro-Life issues, Religious Freedoms and deeply moral issues. A loose nod to Christians and Jews but a firm handshake with middle eastern trade. Scary stuff. Trump is a business man, never forget it.
LITTLE OLD ME
What I struggle with is the associations that come on me when I agree with something Trump says. As if having an agreeing thought with a man I never met makes me like minded in all areas. Making me a racist, sexist, bigot, homophobe. I can attest to this, I certainly say that this reaction has pushed me further onto the Trump-train. Or even worse, when I disagree with Hillary I automatically become associated with a “Right-Wing Bigot”. There is by definition. Many things wrong with this.
First of all, the premise that the Right doesn’t care about minorities and black people is false.
There have been more talks on conservative channels, YouTube’s and you name it, even churches that deal with how to help minority and urban communities restore themselves than any liberal media outlet I’ve seen. I have only seen language control from liberal outlets. “Messages” that say that YOU are the problem. That we all need to change our “subconscious bias” by reprograming ourselves. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be reprogrammed by the government.
Furthermore, changing how I think and what I say isn’t the answer, it’s changing what we do as a culture. We need to help these communities. There are more organizations geared towards leadership, entrepreneurship, fatherhood and restoration of the black community than the liberal media wants us to know about. Organizations run by either explicitly conservative people or bi-partisan camps. Organizations like kheprw, or Project 21 just to name a few.
The illusion that the solution to all of our problems rests in government is false.
I’m not sure how much we really trust government but from what I see, people tend to not trust them much….yet they vote for people who will make the government bigger over and over again! Maybe it’s just the hype of the season.
But from what I see on my newsfeed, everyones answer for everything is MORE RULES! All I want my government to do is to leave me alone and protect me if someone goes a little crazy. Government should not be feeding my kids, taking my place as the father of my kids, kicking me out of my home, building me a house, or paying my rent. It should be getting out of the way so much that it’s easy for me to work for anyone I want and make enough money for me to do it all myself!! No matter what color I am!!
Now thats freedom baby!
But it’s not doing that. Neither candidate is doing that. And that is a scary thought. That fact that every answer seems to be “I will do this for you my little peasants.” Instead of “We’re going to get out of the way so you can live your lives because this is the most free country in the world.” That’s scary to me. Thats Orwellian to me. I have friends from Venezuela, they are scared to death of both of these candidates, because it’s an all too familiar stench from the food line. I can only imagine their flashbacks.
There are tons of issues to talk through in this country, and they deserve their time. Yet, we can’t get anywhere screaming bigot any time we’re presented with an idea that opposes ours. We can’t get anywhere when we scream SJW anytime somebody is passionate without facts. We have to take time to educate ourselves on the issues of our country. This election has become entertainment, and that was cool for a while, but now it’s time to put the science back in political science.
What are some issues you struggled with as you watched the debates? Can you name some without getting upset?
