Kendrick Lammar Performs a Medley of ‘To Pimp a Butterfly’ on The Late Show

Succeeding the great David Lettermen is no easy feat. But if there is ever an immeasurable talent to do it, Stephen Colbert has come to the rescue. He brought in Kendrick Lammar as his musical guest which is appropriate since Lammar was the final performance on Comedy Central’s The Colbert Show. Moving Colbert from the political realm to the world of entertainment may have seemed a bit daunting for some execs and even skeptical fans but this show disproved all questions.

Lammar performs a medley of his latest album “To Pimp A Butterfly” with musical perfection and detailed execution. Leaving you in anticipation as every note of the neo/soul/funk west coast hip hop inspired band plugs away. Lammar gets every word across with clarity and passion as he moves effortlessly without his newly crowned west coast king title weighing him down. This performance is a Kendrick classic, one that will go into the archives and I assure you King Kunta is only beginning to use his voice.
