How To Destroy ISIS: The Christian Way
For a while, I found myself fearing them as well. I didn’t want to give ISIS that power, since its goal is to create fear, but I was the kind of person the terrorist group hated the most- a Christian. I am fortunate enough to live in a country where the chances of persecution for my faith are slim, but the big question is, what if I wasn’t? It’s a scary question to ask yourself, but it opens your mind up to the terrors some people live on a daily basis.
Religious persecution has gone on for years and we, as Christians, should know that. After all, Jesus died for us, tormented in every way possible until He slowly died on the cross. He did that to save us. We, too, have the body of Christ within us and the strength He used when He died for us on the cross.
So how do we defeat ISIS or other extremist groups that try to tear apart our faith? The answer: they’ve already been defeated. We have been saved through Christ our Savior. They can torture us, behead us, but they can’t take away the Holy Spirit who lives within us.
If you’re like me, maybe you’re still afraid of physical pain. Matthew 10:28 says, “Do not be afraid of those who can kill the body but not the soul. Rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Hell.”
There is no need to fear ISIS or any other terrorist groups because they are weak compared to our God, and we have His strength living inside all of us.
