Hotline Bling: What Drake Really Means

With Dake’s new dance sensation oh…and song Hotline Bling being a huge thing, I thought I would offer what the meaning of the song is. Since this song has no overt drug innuendos or sexual coding. I thought I would allow you to see the dynamics at play in Drizzy’s head as he was composing the poetic love letter to one of his bagillion girls. Needless to say this song doesn’t hold a candle to Marvin’s Room but I thought I’d let you see how “Charming” the approach of Drake is IRL. Sappy and all, here is the second edition of What They Really Mean! Enjoy!

You used to call me on my, you used to, you used to

Sentence fragment.

You used to call me on my cell phone Late night when you need my love

You used to call me at absurd hours of the night to do pre-marital things we shouldn’t speak of on the radio.

Call me on my cell phone Late night when you need my love

Call me at absurd hours of the night to do pre-marital things we shouldn’t speak of on the radio.

And I know when that hotline bling That can only mean one thing

And I know when my phone’s Vanilla Ice ring tone goes off, that can only mean you want to meet up.

I know when that hotline bling That can only mean one thing

Ever since I left the city, you, you, you You and me we just don’t get along

Doing things I taught you, gettin’ nasty for someone else
You don’t need no one else
