God Made Weed
As a former pot-ologist, weed enthusiast, cannabis connoisseur I can attest to this simple little bible verse. God did make weed. There is absolutely healing elements in it. God also made science.
The healing elements in marijuana can be accessed without the need to alter our minds.
What’s the fun in weed then?!
Well..smoking weed in your 20s actually decreases motivation and drive for success, it also lowers your testosterone (bro). It makes you counter productive and makes you not care. I personally became the type of person who was so haphazard about my being that I didn’t want to be anything. The danger in marijuana is not primarily health. It’s primarily purpose. When a Christian smokes pot they are throwing away their purpose, they are latching on to mediocre, it not only changes your immediate circumstance but it changes what who you will be. It puts you in a different mind state, one that purpose driven people don’t operate in. If that’s the effect you’re going for and the type of human you want to be, then by all means, you don’t need the bible to tell you it’s okay.
Just because God made it, doesn’t mean it’s supposed to be used for your frat house pleasure. God made a lot of things. The coca leaf for instance. We’ve just managed to misuse it for our entertainment. Weed has process it goes through as well to become smokable. So we can’t say we pick it and smoke it. But if you insist in biblical backing, here is one.
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV
Now if you’ve ever smoked before, you know that being paranoid is kind your initiation.
That’s kinda the first indication you’re doing it wrong bro. Jesus also says in the bible:
“If you love Me, keep My commandments.” John 14:15
So if you love God and don’t use the bible as some frivolous rule book to justify your drug habit then you probably won’t want to roll up a Dutch Master in the first place. But let’s assume you’re trying to overcome a struggle.
So You Need A Rule.
God said do not fear.
He’s given you:
Power: The power to overcome this habit.
Sound Mind: If you love him you’ll know he created your mind perfectly and you don’t need to alter it in order for it to be functional or creative. God gave you the mind of Christ. With that you can do all things.
If the argument over marijuana and God eclipses or puts a damper on your faith in Jesus, then weed has become an idol. We all have idols in our lives, I have many myself. Finding them is half the battle. But if God isn’t a factor because you simply don’t believe in Him, then unfortunately it doesn’t change the fact that marijuana will still have it’s said side affects. Either way, we learn we decide, we live our lives and we go on knowing:
‘I am the Lord your God … ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’ -Deuteronomy 5:6,7
Smoking weed may not be illegal anymore, but it’s sure as heck still stupid.
